No trains between Groningen - Bad Nieuweschans October 26 through November 3

During the fall break in the Northern Netherlands, ProRail and several contractors are working on the track between Sappemeer and Zuidbroek. Most of the work is for the speed increase needed for the Wunderline. Therefore, from Saturday, October 26 to Sunday, November 3, no trains will run on the route between Groningen - Bad Nieuweschans, and Groningen - Veendam.

Between Sappemeer and Zuidbroek, ProRail and Gebr. De Koning are reinforcing the subsoil. They are doing this by installing sheet pile walls and H sections, among other things. This will enable trains to travel at higher speeds. There is also ground work and cable and pipe work. During the work some level crossings are closed for shorter or longer periods.

Impact on train traffic

Buses will run instead of trains during the work. Travelers wishing to use the train replacement bus service will need a valid ticket, such as an OV-chip card or debit card. Check-in can be done at the departure station and check-out at the arrival station. It is not possible to bring bicycles on the bus.
