Protecting pool frogs along the Wunderline

We take nature's sensitive species into account. The Wunderline is a good example of this: we strengthen the international train connection while ensuring that sensitive nature is preserved.

Near Scheemda, we will modify the track on the northern side, touching the railway embankment. There are pool frogs at that location. We ensure protection for the pool frogs. The verge is mowed short. Over a length of 300 metres, we place amphibian screens and along these screens we place buckets. We check the buckets regularly and the frogs are then returned away from the work area.

With the Wunderline, we are investing in sustainable mobility and a green future. A railway line that not only connects people, but also provides balance with nature.
